My Postpartum Doula Story

I believe with all my heart that every mother, parent and child is worthy of compassionate, gentle and respectful support. No one should have to rely on "luck" to get the care and attention they deserve after the birth of a baby.

Our “Birth” Story…

My husband and I eagerly awaited our first baby’s arrival by reading all the books and paying close attention during our prenatal classes. We were both feeling pretty confident that welcoming our little one into our family was going to be an easy and natural transition.

Once our baby was in my arms
it didn't take long for a new realty to set in.

I remember wanting desperately to breastfeed my sweet baby boy but having no idea how to get his little mouth to open. The videos we watched in prenatal class made it look so easy!

After getting conflicting advice from well-meaning family, friends and even health care providers, I was left feeling confused and overwhelmed.

I was fortunate to have one particular nurse show up for us in a way that was gentle yet encouraging all while giving me the personal touch I needed to feel secure and confident.

I finally felt ready to grow into my role as a mother, learn to trust my intuition and my baby's innate capabilities.

I went on to have 3 more children and began to realize that the support I experienced with my firstborn was uncommon.

I had simply “lucked out”.

It became clear to me that there’s a significant gap in postpartum care in our culture.

This sparked a passion within me!

I first became a Certified Sleep Consultant because I saw a clear gap—families with babies were struggling, and there wasn’t enough support that honored both rest and relationship. Sleep felt like the tipping point, where exhaustion met uncertainty, and I wanted to offer practical, caring solutions.

But as I worked with more families, I realized that cookie-cutter sleep plans weren’t enough. Parents needed more than a schedule—they needed to feel seen, supported, and empowered.

That’s what led me to become a Certified Postpartum Doula and a Circle of Security Parent Facilitator. I also completed RIE® Foundations and embraced the principles of Conscious Parenting.

These experiences shaped the way I support families today—with a holistic, responsive approach that prioritizes connection, confidence, and rest.

I became a postpartum doula because I saw how much families were carrying alone. I wanted to show up with steady, nonjudgmental care during those early, intense weeks—so parents could move beyond survival and start enjoying life with their baby.

Why I Chose the Name
“Sleep Well Mama”

Sleep is a powerful indicator of how things are going—when moms are well-rested, everything feels more manageable. Rest allows them to show up fully for themselves and their babies.

Wellness in motherhood isn’t just about the baby—it’s about you, too. It’s about finding balance between your health, emotions, and peace through rest, self-care, and support. When moms feel strong and cared for, the whole family benefits.

I chose Mama because my passion has always been to “mother the mother” with warmth and kindness. As a doula, my role is to support you first—because when you’re okay, your family thrives.

It would be my honour to be there for you and your family in the way you deserve.
